Hiwatt has introduced a pair of new amp heads, the Super-Hi 33 and Super-Hi 50, that deliver classic Hiwatt clarity with modern, ripping high gain tones.
These two-channel amps provide gain and volume controls for each channel, plus an independent 'Super Hi' boost to push them into meltdown, putting four levels of gain and volume at your disposal. A dual-button footswitch is included, allowing you to quickly and easily select your channel and engage the Super-Hi boost. Amid all the mayhem, Hiwatt has provided a clean, quiet post-preamp FX loop to keep your modulation and time-based effects crystal clear.
Designed as a cutting edge ‘metal amp’ around a classic Hiwatt DR504 circuit, this union of precisely curated gain stages on Hiwatt’s unique circuitry has resulted in an original and truly versatile amplifier. The Hiwatt Super-Hi covers an impressive array of genres: Metal, Punk, Classic Rock, Psychedelic, Prog, and even more.
The two new amp heads offer a more accessible version of the handwired Custom Shop Super-Hi circuit. The Custom Shop model marked Hiwatt’s entry into the high-gain amp market, as legendary amp designer Mike Fortin took the company’s classic DR504 chassis and hot-rodded it into a fire breathing monster which was quickly adopted by artists such as Josh Elmore (Cattle Decapitation), Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem), and Ben McLeod (All Them Witches).
The new Super-Hi 33 and Super-Hi 50 use PCB design and Hiwatt build quality to replicate the Custom Super-Hi circuit as part of our tour-ready British Engineered range.
Key features include:
- An extremely versatile amplifier featuring 2 channels of all-valve gain and a ‘channel-independent’ 4th gain stage - the Super-Hi Boost - for extra drive and presence.

- Interactive post-EQ Presence and Depth controls for added bass resonance.
- Professional PCB design and build shortens the signal path between critical components to lower the noise floor.
