Rocky Point, NC (April 4, 2010) -- Port City Amps has released the Pearl, designed to provide a pure, rich dynamic clean tone to lay the foundation for using overdrive pedals. The amp boasts simplicity and a small footprint -- 16 7/8" W x 8 Ā¾" T x 7" D -- and pairs perfectly with the Port City 1x12 and 1x12 OS Wave cabinets.

The Port City Pearl is handmade in North Carolina using only high quality components such as Mojo Dijon capacitors, carbon composition resistors, custom USA made transformers, PVC coated copper wire and Switchcraft jacks. The Pearl head enclosure is crafted from Ā¼" inch finger jointed solid pine.

The Chicago-via-New York trio of best friends reinterpret the best bits of college-rock and ā€™90s indie on their new record, Phonetics On and On.

Horsegirl guitarists Nora Cheng and Penelope Lowenstein are back in their hometown of Chicago during winter break from New York University, where they share an apartment with drummer Gigi Reece. Theyā€™re both in the middle of writing papers. Cheng is working on one about Buckminster Fuller for a city planning class, and Lowenstein is untangling Austrian writer Ingeborg Bachmannā€™s short story, ā€œThree Paths to the Lake.ā€
