Seoul, South Korea (July 12, 2018) -- With the unveiling of the Gold-O8, Cort introduces the higher-end 8 Series to its best-ever acoustic guitar family. Designed with upgrades like Pau Ferro tonewood and an 8-Series abalone/mother of pearl inlay, the orchestra model Gold-O8 takes the high-quality tone that has defined the Gold series and raises the bar even higher with new upscale features.
The hallmark of Cort’s Gold series is the Aged to Vintage (ATV) treatment that allows the Grade A+ solid Sitka spruce top to cure and open up more over time. ATV acts as a torrefaction process, giving the Gold-O8 a big, open tone that’s bright, yet natural with a strong and warm midrange that’s reinforced by the solid Pau Ferro back and sides. A sonically enhanced UV finish protects both the instrument and tonal quality, and is now available in a new Light Burst color option in addition to Natural Gloss.
In the Gold series, high-end materials are primed to perform with Cort’s high-quality construction. The modernized X-bracing has been hand-scalloped to lighten the weight and free up added top vibration. A tight-fitting traditional dovetail neck joint is reinforced with a bolt, creating a DoubleLock neck that maximizes the transfer of tone and enhances resonance. The mahogany neck is reinforced with walnut for added stability.
The Gold-O8’s 45mm genuine bone nut and saddle help to make this model ideal for fingerstyle playing. Playability is further enhanced by the rounded fingerboard edge. The sleek ebony fretboard matches the ebony bridge as well as ebony pins, while vintage gold tuners accent the headstock.
