Mesa/Boogie Adds the Fillmore 100

The big brother aims to offer a higher-powered Fillmore with increased dimensional width, greater headroom and other sound benefits typically associated with their higher wattage designs.

Petaluma, California (June 7, 2019) -- MESA/Boogie® is excited to announce the addition of the Fillmore™ 100 guitar amplifier to its line of products built in the company’s Petaluma, California shop. MESA® reports that the new vintage-voiced and styled amplifier is inspired by the award-winning Fillmore 50 and the opportunity to deliver a higher-powered Fillmore with increased dimensional width, greater headroom and other sound benefits typically associated with their higher wattage designs.

Similar to the 25 and 50, the 100 is presented in a simple 2 (identical) Channel, 3-Mode platform. The all-tube Fillmore 100 is powered by 4x6L6 Power Tubes and features 5x12AX7 Preamp Tubes. For those who desire the benefits of both big power and low wattage in the same amp, the Fillmore 100 features MESA's proprietary Dyna-Watt™, Class A/B Power Amp with a single, global Full/Half/Low Power Switch. Each setting features a different tube count and/or wiring configurations. Full Power Mode utilizes all 4 power tubes, producing 98 watts (clean)/112 (max). Half Power utilizes 2 power tubes, producing 40 watts (clean)/50 (max). Both Full and Half Power Modes operate in Class A/B Pentode for maximum power, punch and clarity. Low Power Mode utilizes 2 tubes operating in Class A/B Triode for lush harmonics and a sweet, liquid feel at lower volumes, producing 22 watts (clean)/30 (max).

A refreshingly simple front panel reveals 2 fully independent foot-switchable channels. Identical by design, via MESA’s 3 Mode Channel Cloning™, both Channels 1 & 2 feature Channel Cloned Clean, Drive & HI Modes, with Independent Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, Reverb & Master Controls creating versatility far beyond most 2 Channel offerings and many ways to configure each channel. MESA’s Vintage all-tube, long-tank, spring Reverb with independent channel controls and a fully buffered, series tube FX Loop round out the Fillmore 100 feature set. Additionally, Reverb switching can be handled remotely with an optional reverb footswitch & cable offered separately.

“In this era where 100-watt guitar amplifiers are the exception not the rule, the new Fillmore™ 100 reminds us what truly huge Tone, not necessarily with loud volume or unmanageable weight, is all about. More dynamic nuance, more exciting snap in the PERFECT frequencies, increased dimensional width, headroom and better tracking of low frequencies all add up to a Fillmore that excels not just anywhere its lower power siblings fit, but anywhere big power magic is desired. Boogie’s original roots emerge here in the 100 with nearly 50 years of refinement and Tone secrets applied. This is not only the biggest sounding Fillmore, but arguably one of our best amplifiers ever. It’s Tweed architecture like you’ve never experienced it before, capable of beautiful 60s era cleans when set low and classic Tweed growl when pushed. From there, two gain Modes climb the scale with incredible finesse and provide virtually unlimited possibilities when it comes to Traditional-modified.” said Doug West, Director of Marketing at MESA/Boogie.

To complement the Fillmore 100, MESA offers several Fillmore cabinet designs. The vintage tuned 1x12 Fillmore 23, 2x12 Fillmore and 1x12 Fillmore 19 feature a higher, tighter bass response that is perfectly suited for the vintage-inspired Fillmore tone. Made in Petaluma, California, Fillmore cabinets are constructed from Marine Grade, Baltic Birch with rear mounted UK-Made Celestion Custom 90 Speaker/s. Their open-back design is vintage-inspired focusing on size, tone & portability. As with all MESA products, a full range of custom options are available for the Fillmore 100 and Fillmore Cabinets.
