Burriss Announces the Boostiest 2.5 Pedal

The Boostiest 2.5 is a combination of two totally independent gain pedals in a single enclosure.

Lexington, KY (August 15, 2011) ā€“ Burriss Amps introduces the Boostiest 2.5, updating the look and performance of their most popular stomp box: the Boostiest II.

The Boostiest 2.5 is a combination of two totally independent gain pedals in a single enclosure. On the input side is a fully adjustable gain preamp. On the output side, is a ā€œTSā€ flavored overdrive circuit. ā€œI believe the topography we use gives the best combination for a big clean tone and a fatter overdrive tone,ā€ says designer Bob Burriss. Another feature players will love about the new Boostiest 2.5 is the very attractive price point of only $174.99.

ā€œWeā€™ve wanted to bring the quality and versatility of the Boostiest II to a larger market and, through a new circuit configuration and simplified graphics, weā€™re able to make that happen with the Boostiest 2.5,ā€ added Mr. Burriss.

LA LOM from left: Jake Faulkner, Nicholas Baker, and Zac Sokolow

Guitarist Zac Sokolow takes us on a tour of tropical guitar styles with a set of the cover songs that inspired the trioā€™s Los Angeles League of Musicians.

Thereā€™s long been a cottage industry, driven by record collectors, musicologists, and guitar-heads, dedicated to the sounds that happened when cultures around the world got their hands on electric guitars. The influence goes in all directions. Dick Daleā€™s propulsive, percussive adaptation of ā€œMisirlouā€ā€”a folk song among a variety of Eastern Mediterranean culturesā€”made the case for American musicians to explore sounds beyond our shores, and guitarists from Ry Cooder and David Lindley to Marc Ribot and Richard Bishop have spent decades fitting global guitar influences into their own musical concepts.
