Mike Batke scored this early-’70s Dallas Arbiter L100 4x12 Sound City Amplifier from a friend who got it from his music professor. “Despite slight cosmetic damage, it’s in beautiful condition for its age,” he says. “It was loaded with Fane speakers, but due to moisture damage to the cones, they pretty much disintegrated when I played through the cabinet. It currently holds two Celestion Vintage 30s and two Anniversary Edition G12H speakers.” (Batke says he’s re-coning the Fanes.) “Why is it budget gear?” he asks. “Because I spent $0 to get it. It was a belated birthday gift from my friend many, many moons ago.”
