GALLERY: Summer NAMM 2014 Day 3

Check out the latest and greatest gear from the third day of the 2014 Summer NAMM show.

Recording King

Recording King introduced the Torrified Series at Summer NAMM, in collaboration with luthier Eric Schoenberg. The first model is the O cutaway RP1-16C, with an Adirondack spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The acoustic top is processed through Torrefication, where the wood is heated at low temperatures in an oxygen-free environment to increases resonance and reduces impurities, weight and stiffness. This curing process aims to simulate the transformation that takes place in wood that's been dried for decades. Priced at $499.99.

On her new record with her trio, Molly Miller executes a live-feeling work of structural harmony that mirrors her busy life.

The accomplished guitarist and teacher’s new record, like her lifestyle, is taut and exciting—no more, and certainly no less, than is needed.

Molly Miller, a self-described “high-energy person,” is fully charged by the crack of dawn. When Ischeduled our interview, she opted for the very first slot available—8:30 a.m.—just before her 10 a.m. tennis match!
