Shakey Graves breathes fire into his Americana folk-rock with an LH-650 solid archtop cutaway, a carved top LH-309 with a P-90, and lots of percussion. Why does he love The Loar archtops? We asked him backstage: “Electric archtops have the tensile strength I need so I can fingerpick and my hands won’t stick,” Shakey told us.

Zach loves his Sovtek Mig 60 head, which he plays through a cab he built himself at a pipe-organ shop in Denver. Every glue joint is lined with thin leather for maximum air tightness, and it’s stocked with Celestion G12M Greenback speakers.
