Flea dominated the stage, the fashion world, and all things low with his current No. 1: a Fender Custom Shop Jazz bass with an active Modulus Lane Poor pickup. (Fun fact: We found out in our recent Rig Rundown this pickup was out of production but is now available again as the Lane Poor Legacy.) The beloved bassist kept the crowd going with his oddball antics and happy-go-lucky vibes, handstand-walking the length of the stage, murdering bass lines, and spouting quirky lines to the masses to keep them engaged. “Where’s the fucking moon at? I want to see that thing,” he said as RHCP took the stage following U2’s set, playing under a full moon, nonetheless.
