Yamaha Guitars Europe completely revamped its nylon- and steel-string (shown) Silent Guitars for Musikmesse. The body shape is smaller and more inviting, the rim is made of beautiful wood in place of previous versions’ plastic, and the sonics have been greatly improved with the ability to blend undersaddle piezo sounds with an impressive digital approximation of a studio-miked guitar. There’s also a battery-saving auto-off function for the dual AA batteries.
