Rig Rundown: AWOLNATION’s Zach Irons

A Japanese Strat, Fender Bassman tones from a Kemper, and a whole lot of distortion help Awolnation’s lead 6-stringer recreate unconventional guitar tones onstage.

Most Awolnation songs Irons plays live are in standard tuning, except “I Am,” which is tuned down a half step. For this he uses his G&L ASAT Classic, which he modified by replacing the stock humbucker with a lipstick pickup.
