Rig Rundown: Johnny Hiland

One of Nashville’s hottest pickers demonstrates how he moves from snappy twang licks to ’80s rock and more.

Hiland uses the big Pedaltrain Terra 42 board and places the Voodoo Lab Mondo power supply front and center to make any potential troubleshooting as easy as possible. Most of the pedals are routed through the Carl Martin Octa-Switch II in order to make switching sounds quick and effortless. The entire board is wired with Analysis Plus cables. The DLS RotoSIM is needed for the Danny Gatton-style Leslie effect and the TC Electronic Flashback X4 and Hall of Fame Reverb stay on all the time.
