Greer Amps Introduces the Black Tiger Delay and Hammer Distortion

The Hammer boasts a wide range of fuzz and distortion tones with some extreme setting modes that push into unique sonic territories.

Athens, GA (August 20, 2015) -- After a blockbuster event including a “Best in Show Award” at Summer NAMM, Greer Amps has now officially released for shipping the two new effects pedals that created the craze in Nashville.

The Black Tiger represents a new step forward for Greer with an entrance into the delay category. The primary distinctive feature to the Black Tiger is a dedicated foot switch that allows the user to select delay trails on and off responsively in a live setting. Aside from the “TRAILS” foot switch the Black Tiger offers a clear, evenly voiced delay circuit with an uncommon versatility. Featuring an emphasis on a front-end preamp design, the Black Tiger offers fantastic dynamic performance and touch sensitivity.

Features:

  • Three knobs to control FEEDBACK, TIME, and MIX
  • TRAILS foot switch for real-time delay transition control
  • Touch sensitive front end, analog signal path, digital delay repeater
  • Vintage tape and oil can voicings
  • High quality analog buffers
  • Warm, analog tone, with slight grit on longer delay repeats
  • Mechanical True Bypass
  • Uses 9-Volt battery or standard neg. center, 2.1mm power supply
  • Built with top quality components
  • Lifetime Warranty to the original owner

The Hammer is a wheelhouse classic for Greer. The Hammer boasts a wide range of fuzz and distortion tones with some extreme setting modes that push into unique sonic territories. Used more conservatively, the Hammer offers very convincing distortion and fuzz tones that apply universally to gain-inspired guitar parts. As the interactive GRUNT control is used in tandem with variable gain settings, the Hammer then spits out a chewed-up fuzz tone with a heavy taste of squish and gating. Pushed yet further, the Hammer is capable of an 8-bit style tone with heavy intermodulation and a dynamic clipping impression (as the Hammer is pushed off the rails).

Features:

  • Three knobs to control VOLUME, GRUNT and GAIN
  • Tones that range from distortion to almost 8-bit type fuzz
  • Two controls that effect the gain structure of the pedal
  • Mechanical True Bypass
  • Uses 9-Volt battery or standard neg. center, 2.1mm power supply
  • Built with top quality components
  • Lifetime Warranty to the original owner

Both the Hammer and the Black Tiger are now shipping to dealers for immediate purchase at an MSRP of $199.99.

Of course, traditional volume and wah pedals are expression pedals, too, but they are dedicated to controlling only those two effects.
