Hutchins Guitars Expands in US with Memphis Rose

M & D International and C & J Distributing join forces to expand Hutchins Guitars in the US

October 31, 2008 -- After taking over much of the UK, Hutchins Guitars has decided to share their retro sexy guitars with the US.

The Hutchins Guitars dream began in 1996 when Gary Hutchins of the UKĀ envisioned a series of guitarsĀ that combinedĀ classic vintage styling with 21st century technology. Gary, heavily involved in the recording and producing industry, had a pretty good understanding of what he wanted from his products,Ā but it wasn''t until he teamed up with Allen Entwhistle, genius inventor of ATN (AdvancedĀ Tonal Network), that the ideas really took off. Allen and Gary met, shared ideas and Hutchins Guitars was born. These Eastern made beauties represent more than four decades of classic body designsĀ withĀ today''s technology--a rare combination now available in the US.
Ā

The most recent addition to the Hutchins collection is the ā€œMemphis Roseā€ model. This Gretsch-like instrument features a mahogany hollow body with flame maple top. The maple neck adds strength for heavier strings and has a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is also set using a dove-tail joint with 22 medium frets. The inlays are Mother of Pearl pyramid shapes. The nut width is 1 11/16ā€ and the scale is 24 Ā¾ā€ allowing heavier strings to produce a slinkier feel. The electronics include two retro single coil pickups,Ā one master volume,Ā two individual pickup volumes, a pickup selector switch and a three-position tone selector switch. The tailpiece is a Bigsby B70 and the bridge is fitted with string rollers to reduce detuning when the Bigsby is used. This elegant instrument also comes with a British tweed hard-shell case. Rose Red Stain is the available finish for the exquisite ā€œMemphis Roseā€. Delivery is expected in the U.S. in mid to late-October. The retail of the Memphis Rose is $1300 including the hard-shell tweed case.
