KORG Introduces Custom Shop Series of Tuners

The hand-held GA Custom and Pitchblack Custom pedal tuner both include 3D visual meter and ultra-high precision.

Melville, NY (September 8, 2015) -- 40 years after Korg made history with the introduction of the WT-10, the world’s first hand-held, battery-powered tuner, they continue to innovate tuning with the release of the Custom Shop series. Korg’s commitment to quality with the Custom Shop series takes shape with the compact GA Custom, a new type of compact tuner that packs high-end functionality into a convenient and highly portable package and the durable Pitchblack Custom, an aluminum die cast body pedal tuner with unbeatable visibility and accuracy.

The GA Custom features a large 3D visual meter, the first of its kind for a compact tuner, and the Pitchblack boasts the first vertical 3D visual meter on a pedal tuner. Both tuners have versatile display modes (3 types in the GA and 4 in the Pitchblack) that deliver unprecedented visibility and ultra-high ±0.1 cent tuning precision to meet the professional player’s needs.

The GA Custom has INPUT/OUTPUT jacks to be used when tuning an electric guitar or bass, and there’s a built-in high-sensitivity mic that allows for tuning not only acoustic guitar but also wind instruments, string instruments, or keyboard instruments. The Pitchblack Custom has true bypass switching that prevents any coloration of the users tone, its durable aluminum die cast body provides a DC output that allows parallel connection for powering other effects pedals and has an extended battery life.

“In addition to being packed with high-quality functions and the highest levels of technology, the tuners on the Custom Shop series are easy to operate and careful attention has been paid to appearance and feel,” stated Brian Piccolo, Brand Manager for Korg Guitar products. “The flat design of the GA is excellent for both visibility and portability, and the body is extremely easy to hold. The Pitchblack Custom is designed with the needs of professionals in mind, its durable construction is built to provide years of trouble-free operation with unbeatable visibility and accuracy for all guitarists and bassists.”

In addition to the standard black, both tuners will be available in limited edition color variations of vivid red, bright blue, and sophisticated white.
