Jackson Announces the Pro Series Spectra, X Series Concert and X Series Spectra Basses

Jackson expands its bass offerings with the all-new PRO SERIES SPECTRA BASS, the redesigned X SERIES CONCERT BASS CBXNT DX IV and new X SERIES SPECTRA BASS additions.
The JACKSON PRO SERIES SPECTRA BASS 4-and-5-string models are finely crafted instruments with the very essence right there in the name—a bass for professionals. A bold bass that's more than just a cut above the others; a bass designed to deliver the finest to the demanding and adventurous pro player. The finest in style, tone, comfort and playability.
The offset Spectra body style was innovatively designed with the professional musician in mind, featuring a larger upper horn that evenly distributes weight throughout the instrument for perfect balance and playing comfort. The through-body five-piece maple/walnut/maple/walnut/maple neck with graphite reinforcement ensures ultimate stability and formidable sustain, while the speed neck contour and 12"-16" compound radius caramelized jatoba fingerboard with 24 frets and oval dark pearl inlays offer superior playability.
These low-end machines provide a full-sonic spectrum for even the most versatile and progressive bassists. Featuring alnico V magnets, the Nordstrand single-coil soapbar bridge and neck pickups deliver an all-around pulverizing and striking sound with brighter, cleaner and punchier characteristics. Wide-ranging tonal command comes from a three-band active EQ, two-way toggle switch to bypass or engage active circuit for the 3-band EQ, blend control and volume control. The two-way toggle switch eliminates the risk of losing sound due to a dead battery by bypassing the active circuit and making it easy to regain sound from the bass without the use of battery power. An additional three-way toggle switch dials in a specific mid-frequency range for even more pinpoint tonal control.
All Pro Spectra Bass models also feature a Jackson Single-String hardtail bridge that enhances individual note attack and improves sustain.
The 4-string, 34"-scale PRO SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBP IV features a unique multi-laminate poplar burl/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany body wrapped in sophisticated Caribbean Blue or Transparent Black Burst finishes, complete with a unique 2x2 color matched headstock with an understated "J" logo. The Transparent Black finish features gold hardware, while the Caribbean Blue comes with chrome hardware.
The PRO SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBP V features a unique multi-laminate poplar burl/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany body wrapped in an elegant Transparent Cherry Burst finish with gold hardware, while the PRO SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBA V features a unique multi-laminate flatsawn ash/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany body wrapped in a magnificent stage-stealing Blue Burst finish with black hardware. Both 5-string models feature a 35" scale length and unique 3x2 color matched headstock with an understated "J" logo.
Jackson® Pro Series Spectra Bass
With modern style, flexible tone and incomparable value, the JACKSON X SERIES SPECTRA BASS models take the adventurous player on a bold bass odyssey.
Jackson is also expanding this lineup with the X SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBXQ IV in Amber Blue Burst, X SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBXQ V in Transparent Black Burst, X SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBXP IV in Desert Sand and X SERIES SPECTRA BASS SBXP V in Transparent Purple Burst.
All models feature a poplar body with larger upper horn to evenly distributes weight throughout the instrument for perfect balance and playing comfort. The SBXQ IV and SBXQ V are capped with a rippling quilt maple top, while the SBXP IV and SBXP V sport a distinct poplar burl top.
The graphite-reinforced through-body maple neck with scarf joint creates formidable sustain, with a speed neck contour, 12"-16" compound radius bound laurel fingerboard and 24 frets for superior playability.
Dual passive medium-output humbucking pickups create a dynamic foundation with punch, power and note articulation. These X Series Spectra Bass models also feature a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band active EQ, blend control and volume control with push/pull selector to bypass or engage active circuit for the 3-band EQ.
These basses also have a HiMass hardtail bridge for enhanced sustain and improved attack, unique color matched 2x2 or 3x2 headstock with understated "J" logo and black hardware.
The reimagined JACKSON X SERIES CONCERT BASS CBXNT DX IV is a highly versatile bass designed for one express purpose—bringing the thunder. Upgraded electronics, classically brutal style and fast, efficient playability make this entry into the lineup a fundamental force to be reckoned with. Perfect for rock or metal—or other styles that demand low, punchy bass—this instrument is an unbelievable value.
This 34"-scale bass pairs a poplar body with a graphite-reinforced neck-through-body design that generates formidable sustain, while the speed maple neck contour, 12"-16" compound radius bound laurel fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets make for lightning-fast playability.
The heart of this four-string beast is a Jackson J-style bridge pickup and Jackson P-style neck pickup, mated to an active 3-band EQ circuit for adding punch, cut, rumble or grunt to your sound. A brand-new stylish chrome Jackson Bass Bacher IV string-through-body hardtail bridge enhances note attack and sustain without altering your carefully crafted tone while the sealed die-cast tuning machines keep the strings in tune, no matter how hard you dig into them.
The X SERIES CONCERT BASS CBXNT DX IV ups the ante in the style realm with all-new vivid Absynthe Frost, Gloss Black or Rocket Red finishes, each featuring a parchment pickguard, white binding, pearloid sharkfin inlays, chrome hardware including the bridge pickup cover, black skirt-style control knobs and Jackson pointed 4-in-line black headstock.

PG's demo dude expands his flirtation with active pickups by dropping a set of EMG Fat 55 Retro Active Humbuckers into his warhorse 2003 Gibson Les Paul. Luthier friend Dave Johnson handles the surgery and shares a few key tips to make the project go smoother for you.
Previously, John Bohlinger was curious about what active pickups could do for his anemic 1994 Stratocaster and EMG offered their drop-and-go Steve Lukather SL20 Pickguard set. JB was floored with the guitar's fresh voice and responsive dynamics he wanted to expand the active experiment to his beloved 2003 Gibson Les Paul. So we got a set of EMG Fat 55 Retro Active Humbuckers that required a full install and our luthier friend Dave Johnson walks us through the whole process before John got to test out his old friend's tonal makeover.

At its core is GTRS’ upgraded G151 intelligent system, offering 128 onboard effects, MNRS amp and cab sims, and even 17 guitar emulations—exclusive to this model. Everything is controlled via the eye-catching Super Knob, which changes color to match your preset, as well as through the Bluetooth-connectible GTRS app.
GTRS’ W902 features select tonewoods and construction: an alder body, poplar burl top, and a sleek bolt-on 5-piece neck made from roasted flame maple and rosewood, with satin natural finish and a rosewood fingerboard. The fanned fret design features 24 white copper frets and a stainless zero fret. A pair of GTRS Alnico V pickups and an HL-II bridge deliver a resonant tone, made particularly versatile thanks to the 5-way tone switch and tone knob.
The W902 offers a truly innovative choice for tech-savvy guitarists. Its features include a wireless transmitter, OTG recording, an 80-second looper, metronomes, and a drum machine, the app-supported guitar boasts up to 12 hours of playtime on a single charge (9 hours with the wireless transmitter in use).
The W902 is an upgraded version of the original W900 Intelligent Guitar, and the W902 most notably features an upgraded GTRS Intelligent Processor System, the G151, which even offers upgrades over the GTRS SL810's recently announced G150 system. The G151 system comes with a staggering 128 effects pre-installed, along with 10 of both MOOER's in-house MNRS amp and cabinet simulation profiles. Exclusive to the W902, the G151 system even includes 17 guitar simulation effects, allowing guitarists to emulate the tonal resonance of some of their favorite guitars.
To activate and browse through presets within the G151 system, which can be connected via Bluetooth 5.0, guitarists can use the guitar's Super Knob, which lights up in different LED colors depending on which preset is activated. Of course, users are able to get stuck into and edit the effects chains of presets through the GTRS app, enabling them to craft their own favorites through their mobile device. The guitar still functions without the G151 system; the Super Knob just needs to be turned off, and the W902 is usable as a regular electric guitar.
Within the GTRS app, there is even an 80-second looper, 10 metronomes, and 40 drum machine grooves built in, providing users with an all-in-one suite for guitar practice and composition. This is especially the case when combined with the W902's OTG-recording support, enabling on-the-go recording without the need for a hardware recording setup.
The W902 comes bundled with a GTRS Deluxe gig bag, three guitar wrenches, a USB 3.0 cable for charging, and a user manual. The guitar even contains a wireless transmitter and an integrated 4000mAh Li-ion battery, providing up to 12 hours of continuous use (9 hours with the transmitter in use), allowing users to enjoy the G151 system through headphones or an amplifier.
Guitarists who want to experiment further with the W902’s technology can connect the intelligent system to the GTRS GWF4 wireless footswitch, which is ideal for switching between presets in live scenarios when control through a mobile device isn't practical.
GTRS W902 Guitar construction features:
- Alder Body, 5-Piece Selected Roasted Flame Maple and Rosewood Neck with Satin Natural Finish (C-Shape)
- Bolt-on neck, 25-1/2" scale length, with dual action steel truss rod
- Rosewood fingerboard, 12” radius, 24 white copper (0 fret stainless) fanned frets
