GEWA music has recently announced the acquisition of the Ovation guitar brand from longtime partner, Drum Workshop, Inc.

GEWA music has recently announced the acquisition of
the Ovation guitar brand from longtime partner, Drum Workshop, Inc. Associated brands Adamas
and Applause are also included as part of the deal that was inked in September of this
year.

In 2015 DW became owner of the legendary guitar maker as part of a multi-brand acquisition
from Fender/KMC. GEWA was immediately awarded exclusive Ovation distribution rights
throughout Europe and soon after, began developing proprietary Ovation designs for the European
market. GEWA’s long history of manufacturing and distributing string instruments has
been and will remain an important asset to the successful continuation of the legacy brand.

February 1, 2021will see GEWA Music USA taking over Ovation distribution from Drum Workshop
in the United States, while international retail partners already serviced by GEWA will continue
as before. Moving forward, Ovation‘s New Hartford Custom Shop will focus on the manufacturing
of high-quality Adamas models. These hand-built instruments will be available for
viewing directly on the Ovation website and will be available for purchase through the brands‘s
worldwide network of "Ovation PLUS Retailers".

"We look forward to using our knowledge and expertise in the guitar field to link new ideas and
concepts with one of the most legendary guitar brands of the 1970/1980s. We are already
working on the implementation of several ideas that will soon be presented to our worldwide
Ovation fans & trade partners. No other guitar brand has shaped the sound of the 1970s and
1980s like Ovation. It is a very special challenge to continue the legendary story that began with
Charles Kaman's vision. We dedicate ourselves to this with a lot of enthusiasm! We would like to
thank Drum Workshop for the fair and open discussions and the good cooperation over the past
years."

Hans-Peter Messner CEO/President GEWA music GmbH

“We couldn‘t be more pleased that GEWA will be shepherding this important guitar brand into
the future. Their knowledge in this area and dedication to carrying on the Ovation tradition of
innovation and player-friendly design means Ovation is in excellent hands going forward. We
congratulate Hans-Peter Messner and the entire GEWA team on being part of this brand’s ongoing
story.“

Wampler’s new Mofetta is a riff on Ibanez’s MT10 Mostortion, a long-ago discontinued pedal that’s now an in-demand cult classic. If you look at online listings for the MT10, you’ll see that asking prices have climbed up to $1k in extreme cases.

Although inspired by the classic Fuzz Face, this stomp brings more to the hair-growth game with wide-ranging bias and low-cut controls.

One-ups the Fuzz Face in tonal versatility and pure, sustained filth, with the ability to preserve most of the natural sonic thumbprint of your guitar or take your tone to lower, delightfully nasty places.

Pushing the bias hard can create compromising note decay. Difficult to control at extreme settings.

Intrepid knob-tweakers can blend between ring mod and frequency shifting and shoot for the stars.

Unique, bold, and daring sounds great for guitarists and producers. For how complex it is, it’s easy to find your way around.

Players who don’t have the time to invest might find the scope of this pedal intimidating.
