Sandberg Guitars Announces MarloweDK 5-String Bass

MarloweDK's new 5-string is based on the previous 4-string model, but with a 35" scale length and a few other special features.

Germany (November 28, 2013) -- Almost 2 years have passed since we introduced MarloweDK's Signature California. During this period, we have spent a lot of time with Thomas playing clinics and discussing bass matters. The question posed many times during the clinics was about the possibility of a 5string version of his bass. Finally, we're happy to announce "HERE IT IS!". This new model is based on his 4string version, but of course there are a few special features. We kept the slightly thinner neck and the customized pickup positions, but the neck features a 35 inch scale which is especially useful for a powerful sounding b-string.

MarloweDK picked a "very" Hardcore Aged Black as the standard colour finish for this new model, but we're also able to offer all the other colours and finish types from our comprehensive options list. The new Sandberg California MarloweDK 5string is now available to order at your favourite Sandberg dealer!

Deep clanging reverb tones. Unexpected reverb/modulation combinations.

Steep learning curve for a superficially simple pedal.

SolidGoldFX Ether

A lot of cruel fates can befall a gig. But unless you’re a complete pedal addict or live in high-gain-only realms, doing a gig with just a reverb- and tremolo-equipped amp is not one of them. Usually a nice splash of reverb makes the lamest tone pretty okay. Add a little tremolo on top and you have to work to not be at least a little funky, surfy, or spacy. You see, reverb and modulation go together like beans and rice. That truth, it seems, extends even to maximalist expressions of that formula—like the SolidGold FX Ether.
