VOX Introduces the New Blue Vinyl Amps

VOX Brings Back Custom 1963 Styling with Blue Vinyl

Anaheim, CA (January 30, 2012) -- VOX Amplification has unveiled the new Limited Edition Custom Series AC30C2-BL and AC15C1-BL, and a new addition to the all-tube line, the AC4C1-BL. Each recreates a rare vintage look from VOX’s long amp history. Dating back to 1963, VOX offered optional custom colors. One of the more unique items of this era was the combination of a rich, blue vinyl matched to “domino-style” Tygon grille cloth, which serves as the inspiration for the new amps.

AC15C1-BL / AC30C2-BL Limited Edition Custom Series
Available in the U.S. in extremely limited quantities, the VOX AC15C1-BL and AC30C2-BL amps offer two channels; Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. Both channels rely on the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create the right degree of gain-staging to deliver the coveted clean VOX "chimey" sound or a powerful overdriven tone – and everything in between.

The VOX Classic Tremolo effect can sweeten the sound, with adjustable speed and depth. A warm Spring Reverb is also included, adding spaciousness to the sound. The AC30C2-BL Limited Edition offers an additional tone control to the Reverb section as well. Both amps also provide an effect loop for incorporating a favorite effect pedal, and True “Bypass” switching takes the entire effect loop out of the circuit.

The AC30C2-BL and AC15C1-BL use 3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes. The AC30C2-BL Limited Edition uses 4 x EL84 tubes to delivers 30 Watts of power through a pair of 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers. A pair of EL84 tubes in the AC15C1-BL Limited Edition drives 15 Watts of power through a single 12" Celestion G12M Greenback. Both models offer a switchable 8 ? / 16 ? jack for powering an external speaker cabinet; using this jack will mute the internal speakers. The extension speaker jack allows you to run an additional 16 ? cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound. The VOX VFS2 footswitch allows the Reverb and Tremolo effects to be turned on and off remotely.

AC4C1-BL
The AC30’s Top Boost sound has fascinated guitarists around the world for over fifty years. Capable of massive crunch or the clean, classic VOX “chime,” this Top Boost tone is the essence of VOX's identity. The AC4C1-BL now delivers this signature sound in a portable, compact body. Gain control, Bass and Treble tone controls, and a Master Volume allow any player to easily recreate this historic sound.

Using a Class A, all-tube amplifier chassis, the AC4C1-BL provides a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes, and relies on a single EL84 Power tube to deliver 4 Watts of power through a 10" Celestion VX 10 Speaker. Complementing the rich, blue vinyl and Tygon grille cloth vintage ensemble, is an old-school “Bakelite-inspired” VOX handle.

The Limited Edition Blue AC30C2 Custom Series amp will be available February 2012 for $1700.00, the Limited Edition Blue AC15C1 Custom Series amp will also be available in February 2012 for $1000.00, and the Blue AC4 mini-combo Class A tube amp will be available April 2012 for $450.00.
