Faith Guitars Releases the Blue Moon Series Venus Acoustic

Faith Guitars Releases the Blue Moon Series Venus Acoustic

The guitar uses solid figured Java Mango tonewoods throughout the top, back, and sides, and is matched with a flamed maple binding.

England (January 25, 2021) -- Faith Guitars are delighted to announce the launch of a new addition to their hugely popular Blue Moon Series – the Venus Blue Moon.

Faith’s Venus OM Cutaway / Auditorium is the iconic shape that brought the British guitar brand to the consciousness of so many players over the years. It now becomes the second shape to grace the Blue Moon series following the launch of the Blue Moon Neptune Baby-Jumbo model in 2019.

The Faith Venus Blue Moon adds a new element to the series with its slimmed down body size and depth vs. the Neptune model. The Venus shape tones down the low-end frequencies a little, and in return ramps up the mid frequencies to produce a sweet voice with excellent clarity.

It uses solid figured Java Mango tonewoods throughout the top, back and sides, and is matched with a flamed maple binding, Macassan Figured Ebony fittings, and a Mahogany neck with a Macassan Figured Ebony fingerboard.

The Solid Java body wood features a translucent blue / indigo finish that brings the beautifully varied flamed grains to life – all accentuated by an all-over high gloss finish for a truly stunning looking acoustic guitar.

Tonally, players can expect a unique and interesting character from the Venus Blue Moon. Not as loud and punchy as rosewood nor as straightforwardly mellow as mahogany - it bears its own distinctive warmth. The overall tone could be described as dark and moody. With reduced level of resonant overtones, the Blue Moon Venus is eminently controllable, balanced and resistant to feedback.

As with all Faith guitars, electronics come courtesy of Fishman - in the case of the Venus Blue Moon, the discreet and low-profile Fishman INK3 preamp system with Sonicore under-saddle piezo pickup. The preamp features a chromatic tuner, 3 band EQ and volume control.

Keith Urban’s first instrument was a ukulele at age 4. When he started learning guitar two years later, he complained that it made his fingers hurt. Eventually, he came around. As did the world.

Throughout his over-30-year career, Keith Urban has been known more as a songwriter than a guitarist. Here, he shares about his new release, High, and sheds light on all that went into the path that led him to becoming one of today’s most celebrated country artists.

There are superstars of country and rock, chart-toppers, and guitar heroes. Then there’s Keith Urban. His two dozen No. 1 singles and boatloads of awards may not eclipse George Strait or Garth Brooks, but he’s steadily transcending the notion of what it means to be a country star.

English singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock is as recognizable by tone, lyrics, and his vibrantly hued clothing choices as the sound of Miles Davis’ horn.

The English guitarist expands his extensive discography with 1967: Vacations in the Past, an album paired with a separate book release, both dedicated to the year 1967 and the 14-year-old version of himself that still lives in him today.

English singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock is one of those people who, in his art as well as in his every expression, presents himself fully, without scrim. I don’t know if that’s because he intends to, exactly, or if it’s just that he doesn’t know how to be anyone but himself. And it’s that genuine quality that privileges you or I, as the listener, to recognize him in tone or lyrics alone, the same way one knows the sound of Miles Davis’ horn within an instant of hearing it—or the same way one could tell Hitchcock apart in a crowd by his vibrantly hued, often loudly patterned fashion choices.
