Faith Guitars Unveils the Blue Moon

A Baby Jumbo-shaped model with an all-Mango tonewood and Blue Moon blueburst finish.

United Kingdom (November 7, 2019) -- Multi award-winning British acoustic guitar brand, Faith Guitars, today announced their latest model release: the Neptune Blue Moon.

Continuing the company’s well-established ā€˜heavenly-bodies’ naming convention, this new model is a Neptune - Baby Jumbo - shape but is differentiated by the all-Mango tonewood choice and the beautiful ā€˜Blue Moon’ blue-burst finish.

ā€œPatrick Eggle and I have always been intrigued by the wonderful array of woods available in Indonesia,ā€ says Alex Mew, Faith Guitars’ brand director. ā€œWe first experimented with an all-Mango guitar a couple of years ago, and really liked what we found. It’s quite a bit different in its tonal delivery to the standard Spruce or Cedar topped guitar, so we were conscious that we needed to secure appropriate grade wood with the correct stiffness before deciding on the final body design. Patrick then settled on the stunning blue-burst finish which helps show off the mango’s natural grain variation wonderfully, and which in turn makes each guitar truly unique.ā€

With their workshops based in Indonesia, Faith Guitars have long been keen to source as much tonewood close their manufacturing base as possible. The fruits of this endeavour can be seen throughout the guitar ranges with Indonesian Mahogany, Indonesian Rosewood and Macassar Ebony featuring heavily, plus the use of Javan Trembesi another Indigenous tonewood, used to stunning effect on the award-winning ā€˜Blood Moon’ series.

In terms of sound, Mango gives offers a unique tonal palette, sitting comfortably between Koa and Maple, with good projection in the upper-bass frequencies, and real depth in the mid-ranges. The finish is a hand-sprayed, dark blue to mid-blue burst finish accented by fibre purfling and solid Flamed Maple binding. Electronics are supplied by Fishman in the shape of the highly regarded INK3 system.

Faith Blue Moon models will be available to North American customers via the Faith Guitars USA website from the end of November 2019, priced at $1249.00 MSRP including a hardcase.
