Marshall Amplification Studio Series
Marshall Amplification came to NAMM with two captivating smaller-profile Studio Series amps. Available in 20-watt heads (1,299 street) driving either a 2x12 vertical cab ($799) or a 1x12 cab, or as a 1x10 combo ($1,499), the EL34-driven amps come in either a JCM800 version (right) or a 1959 Super Lead-inspired model. Both feature DI outputs and are switchable to 1 or 5 watts.

Zach loves his Sovtek Mig 60 head, which he plays through a cab he built himself at a pipe-organ shop in Denver. Every glue joint is lined with thin leather for maximum air tightness, and it’s stocked with Celestion G12M Greenback speakers.
