Godin Session Custom and Session Plus, Godin Multiac Steel Duet Ambiance, Godin Core Series, Richmond Empire Mahogany P90, and more.

Montreal, Canada (January 5th, 2012) --- Montreal based Godin Guitars is getting ready for the upcoming New Year with the introduction of a number of exciting and versatile guitars at this year’s Winter NAMM show, from January 19th to the 22nd in Anaheim California.

Godin Session Custom and Session Plus
Two new upscale additions to the Godin Session series will be making their official world premiere at Winter NAMM. North American made and packed with features, the new Godin Session Custom and Godin Session Plus both feature Canadian basswood bodies, rock maple necks with maple or rosewood fingerboard options, 25 ½” scale, the Godin High-Definition Revoicer and the new Godin Tru-Loc Tremolo system which allows players to regulate their own trem arm placement into a personal Custom Comfort Zone. The Session Custom features a beefy Godin Humbucker in the neck and the sweet new Godin Custom Cajun single-coil pickup in the bridge for added vintage punch and bite. All of which are housed in a classic single cutaway body design and controlled via a 5-way switch, one volume and one tone knob. The Session Plus features a Godin humbucker in the bridge and two Godin GS-2 single-coil pickups with extra large pole pieces in the neck and middle positions. Electronics are controlled via 5-way switch, 1 volume and 1 tone knob along with a mini toggle switch to split the humbucker.

Godin Multiac Steel Duet Ambiance
A new addition to the Multiac family is the new Multiac Steel Duet Ambiance, which Godin says is quite possibly one of the best sounding electro-acoustic steel string guitars the company has ever produced! This model features a chambered mahogany body with a solid spruce top, custom Fishman Aura electronics, blendable sound imaging mic with 4 individual mic settings, as well as a dual source preamp with feedback control and under saddle transducer. As with all Multiac series guitars, the Steel Duet Ambiance is made to be played in live and loud settings with virtually no feedback.

Godin Core Series
Made in Canada, the new Core series is comprised of three models that will surely ignite some fires in more than a few gigging guitar rockers. All feature chambered mahogany bodies with maple tops, mahogany set necks, 24 ¾” scale, rosewood fingerboards, wraparound Resomax bridges by Graphtech, and as the name suggests, these guitars are rock machines to their very “Core.” Models include: the Godin Core HB with a pair of hot Godin Nitro Humbuckers, the Godin Core P90 with two Seymour Duncan P90 pickups and the Godin Core EMG, loaded with EMG 85 & 81 active humbuckers.

Richmond Empire Mahogany P90
Richmond is the newest brand in the Godin Guitar family. A variation on the hot Richmond Empire Mahogany is this year powered by Godin Kingpin P90 soapbar pickups. Packed with rock & roll swagger, the Richmond Empire Mahogany P90 delivers simple & serious classic rock punch with a very appealing price tag! It features a single cutaway solid mahogany body design and includes a natural high-gloss finish, a 24 ¾” scale, ultra comfortable mahogany ergocut neck with a worn in feel, rosewood fingerboard, high-ratio tuners and a chrome wraparound bridge. A 3-way toggle switch, 1 volume & 1 tone knob help control all the classic tones.

Seagull and Simon & Patrick: Natural Elements Acoustic Collection
Crafted in Canada and showcasing the best elements of Mother Nature’s own creative talents, the limited edition Seagull and Simon & Patrick Natural Elements Acoustic Collection offers players incomparable value for an acoustic guitar series of this caliber. These individually unique pieces combine pure random natural aesthetic beauty, with exceptional craftsmanship, eco friendly alternative woods & a price tag that the working musician can appreciate, and afford. Featuring pure and natural pieces of figured Cherry wood, Heart of Wild Cherry and a figured Maple, which Mother Nature intricately inlaid with Figured Amber-Trails. Each model beautifully accentuated by wood binding, flame maple veneer headstocks and the satin sheen of a custom polished finish. A Natural Elements burn stamp in the top will identify each guitar, further differentiating their unique beauty from other models in their acoustic family.

A 26 1/4" scale length, beastly pickups, and buttery playability provoke deep overtone exploration and riotous drop-tuning sounds.

A smooth, easy player that makes exploring extra scale length a breeze. Pickups have great capacity for overtone detail. Sounds massive with mid-scooped fuzz devices.

Hot pickups can obscure some nuance that the wealth of overtones begs for.

No matter how strong your love for the guitar, there are days when you stare at your 6-string and mutter under your breath, “Ugh … you again?” There are many ways to rekindle affection for our favorite instruments. You can disappear to Mexico for six months, noodle on modular synths, or maybe buy a crappy vintage car that leaves you longing for the relative economy of replacing strings instead of carburetors. But if you don’t want to stray too far, there are also many variations on the 6-string theme to explore. You can poke around on a baritone, or a 6-string bass, or multiply your strings by two until you reach jingle-jangle ecstasy.

A familiar-feeling looper occupies a sweet spot between intuitive and capable.

Intuitive operation. Forgiving footswitch feel. Extra features on top of basic looping feel like creative assets instead of overkill.

Embedded rhythm tracks can sneak up on you if you’re not careful about the rhythm level.

Maybe every guitarist’s first pedal should be a looper. There are few more engaging ways to learn than playing along to your own ideas—or programmed rhythms, for that matter, which are a component of the new DigiTech JamMan Solo HD’s makeup. Beyond practicing, though, the Solo HD facilitates creation and fuels the rush that comes from instant composition and arrangement or jamming with a very like-minded partner in a two-man band.
