Luna Guitars Unveils the Art Vintage Jumbo

Each new model features a pau ferro fretboard, mahogany neck, and Fishman electronics.

Tampa, FL (April 30, 2020) -- Luna Guitars is turning up the volume on its Vintage Series with the introduction of the Art Vintage Jumbo solid top acoustic-electric guitar. With its distinctive rustic looks, thunderous tone, and solid-built construction, the Art Vintage Jumbo is designed to stand out. Songwriters and musicians can expect a rich, natural tone, but can easily amplify their sound and dial it in quickly with the onboard Fishman preamp system with onboard tuner. Larger-than-life in its appeal but also sizeably sophisticated, the Art Vintage Jumbo is a perfect fit for any artist.

Big vintage tone starts with vintage design and materials that are made for the long haul. For the Art Vintage Jumbo, Luna selected strong mahogany for the traditional jumbo body and solid spruce for the flat top. These materials, finished in Distressed Vintage Brownburst and united with multi-ply cream binding, create rich definition from note to note with plenty of presence and unique character when playing rhythmic chords.

The Art Vintage Jumboā€™s sturdy mahogany neck (25 1/2ā€™ā€™ scale) has set-neck construction with a dual-action truss rod. Offering excellent playability and wear resistance, the pau ferro fretboard has 20 frets and a 15" radius for comfortable, clean playing. The desirable pau ferro is also used for the bridge, where a cream saddle and pins contrast the dark wood.

Delivering on power and stability, the Art Vintage Jumbo has a Graph Tech NuBone nut (1.65ā€™ā€™ width). This derivative of Graph Tech's highly resonant TUSQ material is manufactured to precise tolerances under high heat and pressure, making it extremely reliable. Vintage-style open gear tuners with brushed nickel hardware help to reflect Lunaā€™s insignia on the dark brown headstock. Another signature focal point is Lunaā€™s Pearloid Moon Phase fretboard inlays that shine brightly under stage lights.

The Art Vintage Jumbo is destined for live performance, and players will find just what they need with the Fishman Presys II Preamp with onboard tuner. This stage-ready system offers a clear, full sound that, combined with its comfortable profile and light weight, makes it a great choice for a variety of styles.

Whether a player has aspirations for the Grand Ole Opry or their local neighborhood blues jam, the Art Vintage Jumbo acoustic-electric guitar is an affordable instrument to get them there, available at a street price of $399.

No matter what (or where) you are recording, organizing your files will save you hours of time.

A well-organized sample library is crucial for musicians, producers, and sound designers. It enables smoother workflows, saves time, and nurtures creativity by providing easy access to the perfect sounds.

Greetings, and welcome! Last month, I began the first of a multi-part Dojo series centered around field recording and making your own sound libraries by focusing on the recording process. This time, Iā€™m going to show you ways to organize and create a library from the recordings youā€™ve made. We discover things by noticing patterns in nature, and we create things by imposing our own patterns back into nature as well. This is exactly what youā€™re doing by taking the uncontrolled, purely observant recordings youā€™ve made in the natural world and prepping them as raw material for new patterned, controlled forms of musical expression. Tighten up your belts, the Dojo is now open.

The notion behind a ramping phaser predates the phaser pedal by many moonsā€”namely in the form of thetwo-speed Leslie rotating speaker. A Leslie isnā€™t a phaser in the strictest sense, though the physics behind what the listener perceives are not dissimilar, and as any phaser devotee can tell you, there are many audible similarities between the two. At many phase rates and intensities, a phaser stands in convincingly for a Leslie, and the original king of phasers, theUniVibe was conceived as a portable alternative to rotary speakers.

The voice of the guitar can make the unfamiliar familiar, expand the mind, and fill the heart with inspiration. Donā€™t be afraid to reach for sounds that elevate. A host of great players, and listening experiences, are available to inspire you.

In late fall, I had the good fortune of hearing David Gilmour and Adrian Belew live, within the same week. Although itā€™s been nearly two months now, Iā€™m still buzzing. Why? Because Iā€™m hooked on tone, and Gilmour and Belew craft some of the finest, most exciting guitar tones Iā€™ve ever heard.
