Petaluma, CA (November 16, 2020) -- MESA/Boogie announces the addition of the new Badlander 100 and 50 guitar amplifiers to its award-winning Rectifier Series of guitar amplifiers and cabinets built in the company’s Petaluma, California shop. Hand-wired in Petaluma, both the Badlander 100 and 50 are all-tube amplifiers featuring EL34 Power Tubes, 12AX7 Preamp Tubes and a Bias switch provides the option of using either EL34s or 6L6s. In the Badlander 100, a global power switch (Class A/B) provides three options of 100, 50 or 20-Watts of control and the Badlander 50 offers either 50 or 20-Watt options. 2 fully independent, footswitchable channels, each with 3 Mode Channel Cloning are onboard. Channels 1 and 2 Feature Channel Cloned Clean, Crunch & Crush Modes, with Independent Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence and Master and 8-Position CabClone IR virtual cabinet Select on the back-panel.

MESA reports the built-in, channel assignable CabClone IR delivers flexibility, portability and convenience allowing players the ability to go direct silently with or without a cab, for recording, stage or headphone practicing. The CabClone IR is both a cabinet simulator and reactive amp load and it comes preloaded with 8 authentic MESA dynamic and ribbon “mic’d” cabinet IRs. It’s an open system allowing for third-party IR compatibility via USB connection so that the user has open access to download, store and use existing or new IRs of their choice. Extra “Cabinet Library” storage capacity is also a feature for storing additional IR favorites, beyond the 8 MESA factory-loaded cabinets. Both Badlanders feature a fully buffered, tube driven, series FX Loop.

“These new Badlanders bring the Rectifier Series forward with bold new sounds for today and beyond! They’re tight, percussive and absolutely crushing, yet also possess things that will broaden their appeal and versatility for anyone wanting a great Rock amp with attitude. We’ve listened carefully to our community of Recto artists and players and this new design reflects that feedback and has what they are looking for in a modern Rectifier! Tightened up, leaned out and buffed in all the right places …. Badlanders hit hard where it counts, stay tight on the bottom and yet retain the sweet, singing top-end and inviting feel that MESA is known for. They take aim directly at Heavy sounds for sure, but we’d encourage those into classic Rock sounds to play them as well, as first and foremost, they’re packed with Tone. …And with new 3 Modes ranging across the entire gain scale, all new EL34 power and cool optional vintage inspired Dress offerings, they’re ready for anything …musically and aesthetically!” said Doug West, Director of R&D at MESA/Boogie. The Badlander 100 is available in both Head and Rackmount Head formats and the Badlander 50 is available in Head, Rackmount Head and 1x12 Combo.
