Summer School Electronics has launched its latest creation: theFuzz 101 pedal, a new take on a classic fuzz circuit.


After a year of releasing complex pedals – including modulation, spacey reverb, and a collaboration with Canada’s Supercool Pedals – Summer School Electronics gets back to basics in 2026 with Fuzz 101.

More than just a 2-transistor fuzz, Fuzz 101 includes a unique rat-inspired tone stack, a pair of BC108 transistors, and an external bias control. Together, they allow you to tap into a huge array of tones…everything from classic saturated sustained fuzz sounds to sputtering velcro chaos. Whether you’re new to fuzz, or are looking for a refresher on the basics, Fuzz 101 will inspire some new riffs (and much needed sonic chaos) in your life.

Each Fuzz 101 pedal offers the following features:

  • Volume,Fuzz, Bias and Tone controls
  • A unique tone stack based on a Rat filter control

Fender's Vintera III: New Age Aesthetic Meets Vintage Vibes

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) today announced the launch of the Vintera III Series, the next evolution of its acclaimed vintage-inspired lineup. Reimagined from the ground up, the highly anticipated range delivers meticulously crafted instruments that capture the defining sounds, aesthetics and feel of the early, mid and late ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.

“Usually when one band is on tour I’m working on writing music for the other one,” said songwriter and record producer, Nate Amos. “Lorelei and Water From Your Eyes both evolved to a point where they each have their own language. I think it’s maybe because of the floating tremolo system, but it feels a little bit more chaotic when you really go to town on a guitar like that.”

Today, Kurt Vile announces his new album, Philadelphia's been good to me, out May 29th via Verve Records and releases the lead single/video, “Chance to Bleed.” Additionally, he shares the dates for his 2026 world tour, including a big headline hometown show at The Dell as part of Connor Barwin’s Make The World Better concert series, alongside co-headliners Pavement. Philadelphia’s been good to me has a time-collapsing quality, merging meandering balladry and horizon-chasing road songs.

Philadelphia isn’t exactly Neil Young’s Malibu, California or Terry Allen’s Lubbock, Texas, but every great American songwriter needs to stake a claim for the town that feels most like home, and with this album, the man who came out of the gate calling himself “Philly’s constant hitmaker” has crafted a love letter to the city he never left, even as his career took him around the world. “This is my ‘bringing it all back home to Philly’ record,” Vile says. “I’m treating it like my last record. I put everything into it. It’s my best vocal record. It’s my best electric guitar record. It’s my most organic record, made in the comfort of my own zone.”
