Rig Rundown: Hall & Oates’ John Oates and Shane Theriot

The guitar duo shares the vintage-meets-modern setups they use to craft their soul-tinged rock that still packs arenas.

For a low rumbling twang, Oates goes with his Hard Knocks Custom T-Style built by Will Kelly. This T features an ancient Kauri wood top over a roasted poplar body, a roasted flame maple neck, David Allen pickups, Bigsby B5 with Vibramate Spoiler, and Sperzel tuners. This guitar is kept tuned down a whole step.

Thanks to techs Frank Robbins and Justin Stabler.
