Rig Rundown: Hall & Oates’ John Oates and Shane Theriot

The guitar duo shares the vintage-meets-modern setups they use to craft their soul-tinged rock that still packs arenas.

For something funky and hollow, Theriot goes with his 1959 Gibson ES-330. The mostly original axe was at one time converted to lefty, then repaired and converted back by Greg at Classic Ax in Nashville, Will Kelly, and finally Matt Brewster at 30th St Guitars in New York. The 330 is strung with NYXL .010s.

Thanks to techs Frank Robbins and Justin Stabler.
