Norway's Aalberg Audio has added to its line of unique pedals. Last year we saw the Ekko delay, which you can control with the wireless clip-on Aero remote, and this year they came to Musikmesse with the ROM digital reverb and TRYM tremolo. All three feature standard parameter knobs, and footswitches for bypass and tap-tempo, but the Aero lets you select up to three presets for each pedal, as well as adjust parameters from your guitar. You can even see the effects of your tweaks on vertical meters on the pedals themselves.

If you’re not yet using expression pedals, you should consider them. They have the power to expand and control your sonic universe. For the uninitiated, expression pedals are controllers that typically look like volume or wah pedals. Of course, traditional volume and wah pedals are expression pedals, too, but they are dedicated to controlling only those two effects.
