Rig Rundown: Collective Soul

Ed Roland, singer, writer, and guitarist of Collective Soul shows how to find your sonic space in a three-guitar assault.

Triplett plugs his guitars into a Sennheiser wireless. From there the signal hits an Ernie Ball Volume Pedal, a Dunlop Cry Baby Wah, a Keeley 4 Knob Compressor, a TU-3—sent from the tuner out of the volume pedal—an Xotic AC Booster Plus, a Fulltone OCD, an Electro-Harmonix Micro POG, and a trio of boxes from Strymon—a Mobius, Timelive, and Bigsky. A Tech 21 Fly Rig lives on the board in case the main effects die during a performance. All the pedals are powered by an MXR Brick and live on a custom pedalboard. An Ebow dangles on a string from his mic stand when Triplett needs infinite sustain.
