Ibanez Expands Artwood Vintage Lineup

This new trifecta, comprising a Dreadnought, Grande Concert, and Parlor model, features solid mahogany tops with Mahogany back and sides.

Bensalem, PA (September 3, 2015) -- For 2015 Ibanez continues to expand their Artwood Vintage line to include new Vintage Mahogany Sunburst models that evoke turn-of-the-century elegance. This new trifecta, comprising a Dreadnought, Grande Concert and Parlor model, features solid mahogany tops with Mahogany back and sides to produce a full, well-balanced tone. Each model is fitted with bone nut and saddle for superior response, reproducing delicate fingerpicking or percussive strumming with equal distinction. A beautiful Mother of Pearl Rosette surrounds the soundhole and a double purfling outline encompasses the perimeter of each guitar’s top providing additional aesthetic charm. Other features include a classic 3-ply Tortoise Shell pickguard, a Rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays, chrome open gear tuners and high gloss finish. As the Ibanez “modern approach to acoustic guitar tradition,” the Artwood Series has long been a source of pride and a labor of love. With the Artwood Vintage Series, Ibanez has taken inspiration from the past to develop a line of engaging historically influenced instruments.

Kenny Greenberg with his main axe, a vintage Gretsch 6118 Double Anniversary that he found at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville for a mere $600. “It had the original pickups, but the finish had been taken off and the headstock had been repaired.
