J. Rockett Audio Designs Releases the Tranquilizer Phase/Vibe Pedal

J. Rockett Audio Designs Releases the Tranquilizer Phase/Vibe Pedal

A versatile stomp that started out as a recreation of the classic Phase 45.

Nashville, Tennessee (April 28, 2016) -- J. Rockett Audio Designs has announced the third product release of the long awaited Tour Series line. The ā€œTour Seriesā€ is comprised of all new products designed with the influence of a host of top Nashville and LA touring artists to address their needs on the road.

The collaboration continues with the release of the J. Rockett Audio Designs Tranquilizer Phase/Vibe.

The Tranquilizer is a swirly machine. One of our favorite effects of old was the original phase 45. We always thought it was more musical than the 90 and less ā€œin your faceā€. We started out to make a re-creation but then discovered features we needed. The tranquilizer is capable of classic phase 45 sounds, classic Univibe sounds, classic Leslie sounds and classic vibe only sounds. The key to everything morphing is in the Focus control, which is an external biasing feature. One of the things we never liked about the classic 45ā€™s was that you could not control the low-end ā€œwhompā€, but you can with the Tranquilizer.

Tranquilizer Features:

  • 4 controls: Blend, Focus, Fat, and Speed
  • I/O jacks at the head of the pedal
  • 9V DC operation with standard - tip and + sleeve
  • Approximately 4" x 2.30" in size

Price: $199.00

For the first time in the bandā€™s history, the Dawes lineup for Oh Brother consisted of just Griffin and Taylor Goldsmith (left and right).

The folk-rock outfitā€™s frontman Taylor Goldsmith wrote their debut at 23. Now, with the release of their ninth full-length, Oh Brother, he shares his many insights into how heā€™s grown as a songwriter, and what that says about him as an artist and an individual.

Iā€™ve been following the songwriting of Taylor Goldsmith, the frontman of L.A.-based, folk-rock band Dawes, since early 2011. At the time, I was a sophomore in college, and had just discovered their debut, North Hills, a year-and-a-half late. (That was thanks in part to one of its tracks, ā€œWhen My Time Comes,ā€ pervading cable TV via its placement in a Chevy commercial over my winter break.) As I caught on, I became fully entranced.

Though compressors are often used to add excitement to flat tones, pedal compressors for guitar are often ā€¦ boring. Not so theWarm Audio Pedal76. The FET-driven, CineMag transformer-equipped Pedal76 is fun to look at, fun to operate, and fun to experiment with. Well, maybe itā€™s not fun fitting it on a pedalboardā€”at a little less than 6.5ā€ wide and about 3.25ā€ tall, itā€™s big. But its potential to enliven your guitar sounds is also pretty huge.
