Michael Kelly Guitars Introduces New Triple 50 Model

Michael Kelly Guitars Introduces New Triple 50 Model

Built upon the company's 1950s line, the new guitar uses three single-coils and a Super Six wiring mod.

Anaheim, CA (January 16, 2020) -- Michael Kelly Guitars, the ā€œboutique within reachā€ guitar brand, is set to release the new Triple 50 electric guitar at NAMM 2020. The Triple 50 takes the beloved classic two-single-coil pickup configuration and adds a third single coil pickup. While still retaining the true sounds of the Michael Kelly 1950s line, the Super Six wiring mod offers players a wider variety of tones accessible through the mini toggle switch, which activates the middle pickup. The Triple 50 (MAP $499.99) in Burl Black or Gloss Black finish are available for sale now via michaelkellyguitars.com and Michael Kellyā€™s growing authorized dealer network.

The fusion of vintage and modern goes further than the electronics. The traditional bridge brings a classic look, while the compound radius fingerboard offers comfortable, modern playability. The thoroughly modern look of the Black Burl finish features an Ebony fretboard while the classic Gloss Black finish is beautifully paired with an elegant Maple fretboard. Gig bag and hard case available.

The custom designed RockfieldĀ® pickups are enhanced with the Super Six wiring mod, making it the most tonally diverse model in the 1950s series. At home, on stage, or on the road, itā€™s the ideal guitar for country, rock, gospel, and so much more.

1950s Series

Inspired by the vintage finds of the golden era of electric guitar making, the 1950s Series offers features and sonic capabilities of those memorable instruments but with modern day appointments and production techniques. All models feature an exotic wood top and contoured arm cut, master volume and master tone controls. We then enhance some models with boutique electronics mods and some of the best pickups on the market for amazing sonic ranges and versatility.

Triple Fifty Product Features:

  • 2 custom design RockfieldĀ® single coil pickups and 1 RockfieldĀ® traditional single coil pickup
  • Super Six wiring mod for advanced tonal options
  • Burl Black & Gloss Black finishes
  • Maple body binding
  • 10.5" to 16" compound radius maple fretboard
  • 25.5" scale
  • Gig bag and hard case available

Gibson originally launched the EB-6 model with the intention of serving consumers looking for a ā€œtic-tacā€ bass sound.

You may know the Gibson EB-6, but what you may not know is that its first iteration looked nothing like its latest.

When many guitarists first encounter Gibsonā€™s EB-6, a rare, vintage 6-string bass, they assume it must be a response to the Fender Bass VI. And manyEB-6 basses sport an SG-style body shape, so they do look exceedingly modern. (Itā€™s easy to imagine a stoner-rock or doom-metal band keeping one amid an arsenal of Dunables and EGCs.) But the earliest EB-6 basses didnā€™t look anything like SGs, and they arrived a full year before the more famous Fender.
