Prestige Guitars Launches Legacy Series Acoustics

The first new models in Prestige Guitars Legacy Series will be unveiled at Summer NAMM 2016 in Nashville.

Vancouver, BC (June 25, 2016) -- Prestige Guitars is proud to announce the launch of The Legacy Series Acoustic Guitar Line. The first new models in The Legacy Series will be unveiled at Summer NAMM 2016 in Nashville and will include 3 OM guitars. The new models will each feature a different tonewood combo for the back and sides as follows: The Legacy Spruce Mahogany OM features a Tobacco Burst spruce top with Khaya mahogany back and sides, the Legacy Spruce Rosewood OM features a natural spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides and the Legacy Koa OM features a Hawaiian koa top, back, and sides. As with the Prestige Eclipse Series, the Legacy Series guitars will be handbuilt in small batches using only hand selected, pressure tested solid wood, scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing, carved mahogany necks, ebony bridges, bone nut and saddle, and 21:1 Gotoh 510 Tuners. Full Specs for each of the three new Legacy models are listed below.

“With 5 years under our belt with our Award-Winning Eclipse Acoustic Line, we couldn’t wait to expand our offerings to the acoustic market. Our Eclipse line has been very successful both with professional and non-professional players and has found its way into the hands of a number of well-known musicians, becoming their acoustic mainstay, like Eric Bass of Shinedown, Cory Churko of Shania Twain and Todd Kerns of Slash. The new Legacy series harkens a vintage feel, with a modern twist. The use of herring bone and tortoise binding and new finishes, such as our new tobacco burst model gives the Legacy Series guitars a dressed down and subtly understated look, but with every high-end appointment one could expect in a boutique hand-built acoustic guitar. We can’t wait to get these out and into the hands of Prestige fans.” – Adrian O’Brien, VP Marketing – Prestige Guitars.

Keith Urban’s first instrument was a ukulele at age 4. When he started learning guitar two years later, he complained that it made his fingers hurt. Eventually, he came around. As did the world.

Throughout his over-30-year career, Keith Urban has been known more as a songwriter than a guitarist. Here, he shares about his new release, High, and sheds light on all that went into the path that led him to becoming one of today’s most celebrated country artists.

There are superstars of country and rock, chart-toppers, and guitar heroes. Then there’s Keith Urban. His two dozen No. 1 singles and boatloads of awards may not eclipse George Strait or Garth Brooks, but he’s steadily transcending the notion of what it means to be a country star.
