10. Eric Gales
Eric Gales, busy promoting his new album, Middle of The Road, took a break to hang with PG’s John Bohlinger at City Winery in Nashville. Gales, a master of melody, nuance, and flash, showed us his simple setup he uses both live and in the studio.

7. Doyle Bramhall II
At age 18, Doyle Bramhall II was recruited by the Fabulous Thunderbirds to hold down the guitar slot. Since that early break he has stuck out as a solo artist, toured with Roger Waters, and spent over a decade collaborating with Eric Clapton. PG caught up with Bramhall II at Nashville’s City Winery while he was touring to promote his new solo album, Rich Man.
6. Bon Jovi
PG’s Chris Kies spent some quality time with John Shanks, Phil X, and Hugh McDonald before their sold-out show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The trio prove they travel heavy with plenty of instruments, detail their signal chains, and Phil X even challenges Kies to an arm-wrestling match.
5. Tedeschi Trucks Band
PG’s John Bohlinger caught up Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and Tim Lefebvre of the Tedeschi Trucks Band before their 3-show residency at the Ryman in Nashville. While this might not be a gear-heavy band, there’s plenty of soul, groove, and vibe.

Before APC’s gig at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, bassist Matt McJunkins (above right) and guitarists James Iha and Billy Howerdel spend some time with PG’s Chris Kies cataloging the guitars, basses, amps, and digital gear they require to pull off material from all three of their studio albums and beyond.
