When we ran into avant-dreamscapist extraordinaire David Torn at NAMM and asked what gear had wowed him, he raved about the dynamic sonics of the new pickup system devised by Finnish luthier Juha Ruokangas of Ruokangas Guitars. The Valvebucker is an active pickup that uses NOS onboard military-spec tubes to yield several varieties of unique tones (plus boost) from a single pickup.
