Knaggs Guitars Announces Steve Stevens Signature Model

Grammy-Award winning virtuoso and long time collaborators Steve Stevens and Knaggs Guitars proudly announce the Steve Stevens Signature model.

Queenstown, MD (March 15, 2013) -- Grammy-Award winning Virtuoso and long time collaborator Steve Stevens and Knaggs Guitars proudly announce the Steve Stevens Signature model. Tailored to Steveā€™s specs and preferences, it will accompany the legendary guitarist on Billy Idolā€™s 2013 Anniversary Rebel Yell tour and other live appearances and studio projects around the World.

Steveā€™s first Signature model since 1990, finished in Opaque Black with pink binding, features a Mahogany body with carved Maple top, set Mahogany neck with custom pink Morning Star inlays on Rosewood finger board, pink ray gun head stock inlay and Knaggsā€™ proprietary two-in-one bridge, combining a tune-o-matic and string holder into one unit, thus increasing harmonics and sustain only the player can feel. Two volume and tone controls drive specially designed Signature Bareknuckle pick-ups with engraved ray guns not available in any other guitar. Only 99 of these gems will be offered to the public in 2013. Each guitar comes with an exclusive Certificate outlining specs and serial-number and will be hand signed by Steve and team Knaggs. A black form fit case with pink lining completes this limited run offering.

Steve Stevens said: ā€œThis instrument really came together out of a genuine friendship rather than a business venture. It is the combination of an artist and a company who want to put a very high quality guitar out there. I love picking up and playing this guitar, it puts a huge smile on my faceā€. Knaggs Guitarsā€™ VP of Global Sales & Marketing, Peter Wolf added: ā€œSteve really cares about his instruments, equipment and his sound, and he knows all about it. For us, it is a big deal to work with someone of his caliber and to be put to his testā€.

Once all instruments are sold to guitar aficionados and enthusiasts, one lucky winner will be invited for a private guitar lesson. Sales of Steve Stevensā€™ Signature models will also help MusiCares, a charity Steve has been supporting. "We really wanted to give back some of the proceeds of my Signature guitar and MusiCares immediately came to mind. Iā€™ve personally seen them help so many gifted players change their lives for the better and I was fortunate enough to perform with Billy Idol when MusiCares honored Jerry Cantrell in 2012. They are such an amazing organizationā€.

Knaggs Guitars have been carving a niche for themselves in the world of high-end guitar making in just a few short years. Artists currently using Knaggs instruments include Nils Lofgren (E-Street Band), Stuart Fraser (Noiseworks/ John Farnham), Russell Pollard (Everest) and two time Latin Grammy nominee Pablo Olivares.

For the first time in the bandā€™s history, the Dawes lineup for Oh Brother consisted of just Griffin and Taylor Goldsmith (left and right).

The folk-rock outfitā€™s frontman Taylor Goldsmith wrote their debut at 23. Now, with the release of their ninth full-length, Oh Brother, he shares his many insights into how heā€™s grown as a songwriter, and what that says about him as an artist and an individual.

Iā€™ve been following the songwriting of Taylor Goldsmith, the frontman of L.A.-based, folk-rock band Dawes, since early 2011. At the time, I was a sophomore in college, and had just discovered their debut, North Hills, a year-and-a-half late. (That was thanks in part to one of its tracks, ā€œWhen My Time Comes,ā€ pervading cable TV via its placement in a Chevy commercial over my winter break.) As I caught on, I became fully entranced.

Though compressors are often used to add excitement to flat tones, pedal compressors for guitar are often ā€¦ boring. Not so theWarm Audio Pedal76. The FET-driven, CineMag transformer-equipped Pedal76 is fun to look at, fun to operate, and fun to experiment with. Well, maybe itā€™s not fun fitting it on a pedalboardā€”at a little less than 6.5ā€ wide and about 3.25ā€ tall, itā€™s big. But its potential to enliven your guitar sounds is also pretty huge.
