NEXI Industries Announces the DLY-01 Delay Pedal

The delay time can range from 35 ms to 598 ms along with dotted eighth-note effects.

Amsterdaam, Netherlands (April 27, 2017) -- Without further delay, NEXI Industries proudly introduces, well... a delay pedal for electric guitar! Whether it’s used to create a natural echo, a rhythmic repeat, or a deeper, spacey feeling, NEXI’s Delay (DLY-01) delivers a pure, rich, and warm tone, all with a new click-and-play functionality that’s ideal for the active guitarist. This is it—the essential delay pedal players have been waiting for.

Like all NEXI pedals, Delay was designed by boutique effect pedal creators, the self-declared “vintage analog protection squad,” who are committed to providing a unique tone without compromise. Delay is a digital/analog pedal with a direct analog signal path to achieve natural tone. Like most pedals in its class, Delay features Time (35 ms at minimum and 598 ms at maximum), Repeat, and Level controls on a lighted-rim interface.

Dial up Time to shorten the length of time between any two repetitions of the signal, or dial up Repeat to increase the amount of repetitions that create the feedback loop. Level controls how loud the repeats are compared to the original signal. Use a subtle delay for a doubling effect that sounds like another guitar playing in unison with the original signal, or use a lower delay for pseudo chorusing and flanging sounds. Get faux reverb, slapback echo, or just go right to church with a Van Halen “Cathedral” dotted eighth-note effect. Symphonic magic is right at the player’s fingertips—and even more so at their feet.

All NEXI pedals are true bypass and hybrid, and all are tailor-made to plug ‘n play. That means Delay can be used standalone with a 9V battery or plugged right into the external power supply of NEXI’s revolutionary pedal board. Aptly named “The Solution,” this heavy-duty board has a two-channel switch and three-step booster to satisfy every guitarist’s ego. It’s also equipped with covers that protect ports against dirt and beverage spills (splash-proof), a built-in tuner and power supply, and two charging docks for tablet or smartphone. Players can rock confidently, knowing that their board—and their Delay pedal—are safe and sound.

Beauty and sweet sonority elevate a simple-to-use, streamlined acoustic and vocal amplifier.

An EQ curve that trades accuracy for warmth. Easy-to-learn, simple-to-use controls. It’s pretty!

Still exhibits some classic acoustic-amplification problems, like brash, unforgiving midrange if you’re not careful.

Save for a few notable (usually expensive) exceptions, acoustic amplifiers are rarely beautiful in a way that matches the intrinsic loveliness of an acoustic flattop. I’ve certainly seen companies try—usually by using brown-colored vinyl to convey … earthiness? Don’t get me wrong, a lot of these amps sound great and even look okay. But the bar for aesthetics, in my admittedly snotty opinion, remains rather low. So, my hat’s off to Taylor for clearing that bar so decisively and with such style. The Circa 74 is, indeed, a pretty piece of work that’s forgiving to work with, ease to use, streamlined, and sharp.
