Charvel Introduces New Pro-Mod DK22 and DK24 Guitars

The DK22 houses a trio of Seymour Duncan pickups, a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut, and a compound radius fretboard.

Scottsdale, AZ (January 19, 2020) -- Charvel announces the all-new Pro-Mod DK22, as well as an expansion of its top-selling DK24 models.

Delivering standout style and full-spectrum tone, the Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM is a sleek new instrument designed especially for a new breed of player whose musical vision and versatility knows no boundaries.

Featuring a sculpted shredder’s cut heel and scalloped lower back bout for comfortable and unencumbered upper fret access, the Dinky alder body is paired with a graphite-reinforced bolt-on caramelized maple neck for rock-solid stability. The baked neck has a silky-smooth hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back for sublime playability, Luminlay side dots to guide the way along the fretboard on dark stages and a heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel for quick and painless neck relief tweaks. Designed for high-speed playing, its 12”-16” compound radius caramelized maple fingerboard features comfortable rolled edges, 22 jumbo frets, pearloid dot inlays and Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut.

Routed for an SSS pickup configuration, this axe combines a direct mount Seymour Duncan Custom Hot Rails Strat SHR-1B humbucking bridge pickup, direct mount Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coil middle pickup and direct mount Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP single-coil neck pickup for plenty of glassy, vintage-style timbre with classic Strat chime.

The Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM hosts other premium modern features including a five-way blade pickup switch, Stratocaster-style skirt knobs for the volume (500K EVH Bourns low friction potentiometer) and no-load tone controls, Gotoh Custom 510 tremolo bridge, die-cast tuners and more.

The Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM is available in Electric Blue, Gloss Black and Pharaohs Gold with chrome hardware. The Gloss Black model features matte black pickup bobbins and black control knobs, while the Electric Blue and Pharaohs Gold models feature matte parchment pickup bobbins and parchment knobs.

Continuing upon its top-selling Pro-Mod DK24 2PT models, Charvel now offers the Pro-Mod DK24 HSS 2PT CM Ash in Red Ash with chrome hardware.

Featuring a sculpted shredder’s cut heel and scalloped lower back bout for comfortable, unencumbered upper fret access, the ash Dinky™ body is paired with a graphite-reinforced bolt-on caramelized maple neck for rock-solid stability. The “speed” neck features a silky-smooth satin finish on the back for sublime playability, while Luminlay side dots provide guidance along the fretboard on dark stages. An HSS pickup configuration consisting of a Seymour Duncan Custom Full Shred™ SH-10B bridge pickup, Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coil middle pickup and Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP single-coil neck pickup proves to be a versatile tonal force with beefed up mids and articulated, crispy highs.

Other premium modern features include a five-way blade pickup switch, Stratocaster-style skirt knobs for the volume (with 500K EVH Bourns low friction potentiometer) and no-load tone controls, Gotoh Custom 510 tremolo bridge, locking tuners and more. __

Charvel’s DK24 platform also expands with new hardtail and Floyd Rose offerings.

For those interested in an HH pickup configuration, Charvel now offers the Pro-Mod DK24 HH FR M Mahogany with Quilt Maple and Pro-Mod DK24 HH HT M Mahogany with Figured Walnut.

Both models share a sleek Dinky™ mahogany body with a sculpted shredder’s cut heel and scalloped lower back bout. The silky-smooth hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back of the neck grants sublime playability, while the conveniently located heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel makes for painless neck relief tweaks. Designed for speed, a 12”-16” compound radius maple fingerboard features comfortable rolled edges, 24 jumbo frets and offset black dot inlays.

Under the hood, these DK24 HH models are ready to handle the heaviest riffs, tastiest leads or angelic clean tones with a Seymour Duncan Full Shred™ bridge pickup and Seymour Duncan Alnico II™ Pro APH-1N neck pickup. These versatile instruments also feature five-way blade switching, single volume control and a no-load tone control that operates like a standard tone control from positions one through nine, removing itself from the circuit at position ten for transparent sound that lets the full natural voice of the guitar shine through.

Featuring a quilt maple top wrapped in Dark Amber with satin gold hardware, the Pro-Mod DK24 HH FR M Mahogany with Quilt Maple comes equipped with a Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo bridge system. Donned with a figured walnut top in a Natural finish with gold hardware, the Pro-Mod DK24 HH HT M Mahogany with Figured Walnut features a Charvel HT6 string-through-body hardtail bridge.

Both models feature an alder Dinky™ body with a sculpted shredder’s cut heel and scalloped lower back bout that makes access to the upper registers seamless, while the bolt-on maple neck features graphite reinforcement for rock-solid stability. The silky-smooth hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back of the neck grants sublime playability, while the conveniently located heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel makes for quick neck relief tweaks on the fly. Designed for speed, the 12”-16” compound radius maple fingerboard features comfortable rolled edges and 24 jumbo frets for seamless playing.

These HSS configured models are powered by a Seymour Duncan Full Shred™ SH-10B bridge pickup, Seymour Duncan Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coil middle pickup and Seymour Duncan Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP single-coil neck pickup that hit with plenty of focused humbucker grit and vintage snap. The tonal spectrum can be dialed in with five-way blade switching, single volume control and a no-load tone control that operates like a standard tone control from positions one through nine, removing itself from the circuit at position ten for transparent sound that lets the full natural voice of the guitar shine through.

A recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo bridge system provides superior tuning stability and radical pitch-raising capability.

The Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR M Poplar features a swirling poplar burl top dressed in a Purple Sunset finish with black hardware, while the Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR M is available in Specific Ocean with chrome hardware.
