GALLERY: Summer NAMM 2015 Day 1

The latest and greatest axes, amps, and effects from day 1 of the 2015 Summer NAMM show.

Wilcox Guitars showed off their new Atlantis Electroacoustic guitar. This 6-string beauty is powered by the Lightwave optical pickup system which uses infrared light technology to sense string vibration for a rich acoustic sound sans the feedback of mics or harshness of piezos. The Atlantis also features HexFX technology: It's loaded with a 13-pin individual string output and a 1/4" mono output making this axe ideal for computer and synth access, pitch to MIDI conversion, and fast and accurate tracking.

Light and very comfortable to play. Creative tonal options. Excellent hardware.

P-90s may be too hot or bright for some. Middle pickup not as articulate as expectedā€”and surprisingly difficult to activate on the fly.
