Rig Rundown: Josh Smith

A bona fide blues shredder breaks down his powerful pedalboard and rips some licks on his trusty Chapin T-style.

Josh Smith

Smith runs a Sinasoid Slate cable from his guitar to his Dunlop Cry Baby Clyde McCoy reissue wah. From there, the signal goes to his Schmidt Array 250 pedalboard featuring a Morningstar ML5 loop switcher and MC6 MIDI controller. The ML5 allows him to use MIDI to control his non-MIDI stomps. The Mythos Argonaut, Vemuram Myriad Fuzz, Lovepedal Tchula, KingTone Soloist, and TC Electronic Flashback Mini are all wired into loops so Smith can control them using the MC6. After the ML5, the signal hits the GFI Specular Tempus and an Eventide H9 Max—both of which he controls via MIDI.
