Rig Rundown: Killswitch Engage

One of metalcore’s biggest bands allows PG to check out their signature instruments and the minimal gear they use to punish crowds on a nightly basis.

As you’ve probably figured out, Adam and Joel have similar setups down the line and their stompbox selection is no different. Stroetzel uses a Korg DTR-2000 rack tuner. From there the signal runs into his onstage pedalboard that is home to a Maxon AD10 Analog Delay and a Boss AB-2 2-Way Switcher pedal. The “A” channel of the switcher runs into a rack drawer full of pedals including a Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor and a Maxon OD808 Overdrive that runs through the NS-2 loop and into the Iommi head. The “B” channel of the Boss AB-2 runs a Maxon CP-9 Pro+ Compressor that goes into the Lionheart combo.

From Telecasters, G-benders, and cranked Dr. Z amps to instrumental records and wild guitar solos getting mainstream country radio airtime, Paisley has solidified his place in the discussion of all-time greats, and not just in the country world.
