The fourth harp guitar built by California-based luthier Kathy Wingert, this piece features seven sub bass strings (tuned low to high E-B-A-B-C-D-G). Born out of a fascination with the works of Scottish artists Margaret McDonald and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the overlays on the harp head and headstock were designed and created by Wingert’s daughter Jimmi. The guitar is made with sycamore back and sides and an Italian spruce top. The binding is ebony with black/white/black purfling. Wingert did the harp arm inlay, while the rose sound hole was created and cut by Jimmi. The harp guitar will be made available for sale in the fall.
