G&L Guitars Expands the Fullerton Deluxe Series With Two New Basses

The G&L JB and LB-100 are the first models to join the Fullerton Deluxe bass range.

Fullerton, CA (February 13, 2019) -- G&L’s new Fullerton Deluxe range of Made-in-Fullerton basses features upscale appointments curated from the company’s extensive options catalog and packages them for enhanced value.

The G&L JB and LB-100 are the first models to join the Fullerton Deluxe bass range, and they are now shipping with street price starting around $1,449 for the LB-100 and $1,499 for the JB. Fullerton Deluxe LB-100 is available in:

  • 3-Tone Sunburst, 3-ply black pickguard, Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard
  • Fullerton Red, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard

Fullerton Deluxe JB is available in:

  • 3-Tone Sunburst, tortoise pickguard, Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard
  • Lake Placid Blue, 3-ply parchment pickguard, Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard

With a modified and well-worn heavy metal Tele, a Jerry Jones 12-string, a couple banjos, some tape sounds, and a mountain of fast-picking chops, New York’s master of guitar mayhem delivers Object of Unknown Function.

“It’s like time travel,” says Brandon Seabrook, reflecting on the sonic whiplash of “Object of Unknown Function.” The piece, which opens the composer’s solo album of the same name, journeys jarringly from aggressive “early banjo stuff” up through “more 21st-century classical music,” combined with electronic found sounds from a TASCAM 4-track cassette recorder. The end result approaches the disorientation of musique concréte.

“The structure is kind of like hopping centuries or epochs,” he adds. “I [wanted] all these different worlds to collide. It’s like a choose-your-own-adventure.”
