ESP Guitars Unveils Phase Two of New Models for 2020

The latest batch includes new basses, updated SN models, and three new LTD 200s.

North Hollywood, CA (December 18, 2019) -- Following up on the first phase of their new product preview for 2020, ESP Guitars has just posted the second phase of new models that are making their debut in 2020. ESP’s “New for 2020” Phase II can be seen now at www.espguitars.com/pages/2020- product-preview-2. The company stated that more previews are still forthcoming between now and the NAMM Show which starts on January 16, 2020.

New models announced in ESP’s Phase II include several new basses. The LTD Deluxe F-1004 and 5-string F-1005 offer the sculpted and contoured body of the F shape along with top-tier components including neck-thru-body construction, flamed maple tops and innovative Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbars pickups that offer multiple voicings with coil splitting via a push-pull volume control, as well as a balance control and 2-band EQ with a 3-way mini switch for voice 1, voice 2 (mid cut), and voice 2 (mid flat). ESP’s new F Series basses also include the economical LTD F-204 and 5-string F-205 that feature bolt-on 5-piece maple/jatoba necks on mahogany bodies and ESP Designed SB-4 and SB-5 pickups with 3-band active EQ.

ESP also did a big update of their D Series basses with an all-new design of the LTD D-4, D-5 (5-string), and D-6 (6-string) basses. They offer a burled poplar top in Black Natural Burst Satin finish, and are neck-thru-body designs with a 7-piece maple/jatoba neck and mahogany body, and come with ESP Designed SB-4, SB-4, or SB-6 pickups with 3-band active EQ. In other bass updates, the LTD TL Series basses are now being made with a mahogany body and spruce top with a mahogany neck and roasted jatoba fingerboard. The LTD TL-4 and TL-5 basses feature chambered bodies, a Fishman SONICORE pickup with TL-3 preamp and onboard tuner; and a Graphtech Nubone XB nut.

Even after having unveiled a large collection of new LTD Deluxe “1000 Series” models in Phase I of their new product preview, ESP continued to debut more in Phase II. Two new SN Series guitars, the LTD Deluxe SN-1000HT and SN-1000FR, offer a swamp ash body and a roasted maple neck and fingerboard, which is scalloped above the 17th fret and has stainless steel frets, along with a special sand blasted finish. The SN-1000HT (Purple Blast finish) has a Seymour Duncan Sentient/Pegasus pickup set that is splittable with a push-pull control, and a Hipshot fixed bridge. The SN-1000FR comes in an H/S/S pickup configuration, with two Seymour Duncan Hot Strat single-coils and a Pegasus in the bridge, as well as a Floyd Rose 1000SE bridge with stainless steel screws. ESP also added two new finishes to the LTD Xtone series with the PS-1000 Blue Sparkle and the PS-1000 Vintage Black. These semi-hollow guitars include Seymour Duncan Phat Cat single-coils pickups.

Yet another LTD Deluxe model included in ESP’s Phase II releases is the M-1000 in Purple Natural Burst, a neck-thru-body design with an alder body and a burled poplar top, and an extra-thin U-shaped 3- piece maple neck (with natural satin finish on the back of neck) and Macassar ebony fingerboard. The M-1000 includes an EMG 57TW/66TW pickup set with push-pull controls on volume and tone to split each pickup discretely.

The Phase II announcement also included three guitars in the LTD 200 Series, which are priced for musicians on a budget while still offering great quality and value. The LTD EC-256 Vintage Natural features a mahogany body with a flamed maple top, a mahogany neck with roasted jatoba fingerboard, and a set of ESP Designed LH-150 humbucker pickups that can be split with a push-pull control. The LTD F-200 comes in Black Satin finish, and has a mahogany body and 3-piece maple neck with roasted jatoba fingerboard, an FR by Floyd Rose tremolo, and includes a set of ESP Designed LH-301 pickups with a push-pull control for coil splitting. The LTD H-200 is a mahogany-bodied guitar with a flamed maple top and set-neck construction. Offered in See thru Purple finish, it has a set of ESP Designed LH-150 humbucker pickups that can be split with a push-pull control. It also include an LTD fixed bridge with string-thru-body design.

ESP emphasizes that there remains another phase of new product announcements that is scheduled shortly after the start of the new year. Detailed specifications and more information on all new models will be available on the ESP web site by the beginning of the 2020 NAMM Show.
