Nemetone Releases the Distiny Overdrive/Distortion

Designed and hand built in Canada, the Distiny is designed to be a versatile drive pedal that allows you to choose between overdrive and distortion with the flick of a switch.

Boutique pedal builder Nemetone has announced the release of their new Distiny overdrive/distortion pedal.

Designed and hand built in Canada, the Distiny is a versatile drive pedal that allows you to choose between overdrive and distortion with the flick of a switch. It has a very large operating range, spanning the softest overdriven tone to the heaviest distortion in a single pedal, without compromises and with very few adjustments required.

Its key feature is a two-position toggle switch allowing you to select your preferred operating mode. "Soft" mode is a soft clipping channel producing a classic overdrive sound. "Hard" mode is a hard clipping channel producing a powerful raw distortion.

The pedal also features a straightforward 3-knob control set. The Gain Knob adjusts the amount of overdrive/distortion added to the input signal. The Filter knob is a low pass filter allowing you to adjust the high frequencies of your signal and control the harshness of the distortion. The Volume knob controls the output volume.

DISTINY’S features include:

  • Gain knob with superior range and versatility
  • Filter knob to control high-end content of the distortion
  • Toggle switch to change drive mode (Distortion & Overdrive)
  • 9-volt DC via external power supply or batter
  • High visibility LED indicator in all light conditions

The highly versatile and handcrafted pedal carries a price of $199 USD. It can be purchased at nemetone.com.

The luthier’s stash.

There is more to a guitar than just the details.

A guitar is not simply a collection of wood, wire, and metal—it is an act of faith. Faith that a slab of lumber can be coaxed to sing, and that magnets and copper wire can capture something as expansive as human emotion. While it’s comforting to think that tone can be calculated like a tax return, the truth is far messier. A guitar is a living argument between its components—an uneasy alliance of materials and craftsmanship. When it works, it’s glorious.
