Claas Guitars made its first appearance at Musikmesse, bringing along an impressive array of extended-range instruments, including these two iterations of luthier Aleksander Claas' custom Moby Dick models. Both feature stainless steel frets and a push-push pot for pickup switching, while the 9-string features a 26"-29" scale, fanned frets, an ash-and-nut-burl body, wenge-and-maple neck, and Lace Alumitone Deathbar pickups. The 25.5"-scale 6-string has an ash-and-plum-burl body, ovangkol neck, and EMG pickups.

Zach loves his Sovtek Mig 60 head, which he plays through a cab he built himself at a pipe-organ shop in Denver. Every glue joint is lined with thin leather for maximum air tightness, and it’s stocked with Celestion G12M Greenback speakers.
